The meaning behind the name Jin-Sohl Jindo Dog Rescue

In the spring of 2003, the Southern California Jindo Rescue voted to seek a name change in order to clear up misunderstandings about the nature and scope of its work.  A new name was sought that would better reflect the ideals and principles of the SCJR founders.
The Korean term  was chosen as part of the new rescue group name.
This term, romanized to Jin-Sohl,  gives the impression of something true/real, sincere, and open-hearted.  A secondary interpretation of this term gives the impression of something upright and resolute.

This blend of realism, compassion, and determination summarizes the ideals of this rescue group and the final name of Jin-Sohl Jindo Dog Rescue was selected.
