Daejin is a lovely white male Jindo and will weigh about 45 pounds when at his correct weight. Our best guess places him at about two years of age. He was picked up as a stray by a local shelter and his owners never came to get him. Daejin is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and crate trained. He is typically picky about his bathroom habits and is housetrained. He displays the strong prey drive typical of this hunting breed and is not a good choice for a home with cats or other small animals.
Daejin is very affectionate and a real
lover. He has a very happy outlook on life and loves to snuggle.
He dances with glee when it’s playtime and loves spending time with his
person. He also enjoys running and playing in the backyard as well
as lying out and relaxing in the sun. Although he would enjoy a house with
a backyard, he really wants to be in the house with his family.
Daejin wants nothing more than to have
someone to play with and love. Being a true Jindo at heart, he forms tight
bonds with those he is close to and showers them with affection.
Daejin has a soft temperament and is sensitive to negative correction.
He needs a home that is committed to positive reinforcement. He is
a quick learner that thrives on praise and will do anything to please once
he understands what is wanted. He will make someone a fantastic and
loving companion.
It does not appear that Daejin left his
original owner’s property much if at all. He is learning about new
environments but is initially very insecure and tentative with new people
and places. He needs a home that will understand his lack of exposure
and help provide a stabile and secure home environment while he learns
and becomes more comfortable with the variety in the world. He is
an inquisitive boy and is really starting to enjoy his walks and is learning
to walk on a leash.
He has not had any formal obedience training
and would benefit from the structured exposure that a positive reinforcement
obedience class would offer. He has learned "sit" in his foster home and
is working on learning other basic commands.
In Korean, Dae means great and Jin refers
to real or sincere – very appropriate descriptions for this little guy.
Now he just needs that special forever home to call his own.
