Dambee is a lovely red male Jindo and will
weigh about 45 pounds when at his correct weight. Our best guess
places him at one year of age. He was picked up as a stray by a local
shelter and his owners never came to get him. He had sores in numerous
places on his head and neck, and those are healing nicely. Dambee
is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and crate trained. He
is typically picky about his bathroom habits and is housetrained.
Dambee is very affectionate and a real
lover. He loves to snuggle and will gently climb into your lap to
get closer if you encourage it. He hasn’t yet met a person he didn’t
like and enjoys attention in any form. Belly rubs are a favorite
of his. He also enjoys running and playing in the backyard as well
as lying out and relaxing in the sun. Although he would enjoy a house
with a backyard, he really wants to be in the house with his family.

Dambee loves his nightly walks and would
enjoy a situation where he can take walks on a regular basis. He
has a wonderful solid temperament and a very happy outlook on life.
He has not had any formal obedience training and would benefit from the
structured exposure an obedience class would give. He has learned
“sit” in his foster home and is working on learning other basic commands.
Dambee wants nothing more than to have
someone to play with and love him, and he shows his delight by wagging
his tail a mile a minute. He will make someone a fantastic
and loving companion. Being a true Jindo at heart, he forms tight
bonds with those he is close to and showers them with kisses although his
is also very out-going with strangers. Dambee has a soft temperament
and needs a home that will appreciate his gentle nature.
Dambee has not yet been tested with cats,
but all evidence suggests that he will display the strong prey drive typical
of this hunting breed. Dambe has become close friends with his foster
buddy Mei Mei, and with a proper introduction
he would be able to mesh with just about any other non-aggressive similar
size dog. While we will separate them for the right situation, we
would love to see Dambee and Mei Mei go to a home together.
In Korean, Dambee refers to the refreshing
rain after a drought -- a very appropriate name for this little guy
