ChuChu is a female Jindo being fostered by Jin-Sohl Jindo Dog Rescue, located in Southern California. ChuChu is a very typical purebred Korean Jindo Dog. She is on the small side for the breed, and should weigh around 30 pounds when she is at her proper weight. ChuChu is spayed, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, and fully vaccinated. Our best guess puts ChuChu at under a year of age. She was dumped at a shelter by her previous owner who said he was “done with her”. At the time she had both a hernia and very floppy rear dewclaws. Both conditions have been taken care of and her recovery has been uneventful and complete. Now she just needs a home to call her own.
ChuChu bonds closely and quickly with the person she views as “hers”. She is a playful pup, somewhat submissive towards people and very outgoing within familiar environments. Though she clearly was not socialized by her previous owner ChuChu adapts reasonably well to new situations, however she can get overwhelmed by large numbers of strange people and new things. Because of this we feel ChuChu would do best in a home without toddlers or very young children. ChuChu is very fond of the people she considers her own and she will happily allow others to pet and play with her once properly introduced.
Typical of Jindos, ChuChu is very aware of anyone entering “her” property uninvited and she will alert with a deep booming bark. Also typical of this hunting breed, ChuChu has a very high prey drive and would not be a good choice for a home with cats, birds, or other small animals. ChuChu has not had any formal obedience training and would benefit from an obedience class. Her foster home is working on basic leash training and ChuChu is proving to be a quick learner. She’s a very active pup who loves going for long walks. On neutral ground ChuChu does not appear to be overly aggressive towards strange dogs. She is a bit fearful however, and will rebuff friendly advances into her personal space. Once she gets to know other dogs, she is non-aggressive through fences and gates and she might enjoy a companion given a slow introduction process. She’s shown a real fondness for the “big boys” (Malamutes and Akitas) and flirts outrageously, but would probably not do will with dogs smaller than herself. ChuChu is a character with personality plus and a great desire to find that perfect special person or family to call her own. If you are interested in
